Skydive Express is proud of its commitment to environmental sustainability with a blueprint to make its skydiving aircraft operations Carbon Neutral by the year 2013 and then ongoing.

Key components

Exclusive lease of neighbouring property with 45,000m²  (4 ½ hectares) of native woodland

Reforestation of an additional 50,000 m² (5 hectares) by 2013

10,000 trees to be planted

Trees supplied from Men of the Trees, an independent, not for profit, non-government organisation that has already planted millions of trees throughout Australia.

Carbon emissions are offset through Carbon Sequestration by this vegetation.

Progress to date

350 seedlings planted in Winter of 2008

1,400 seedlings planted in Winter of 2009

1,000 seedlings scheduled for planting in 2010

Species planted to date include WA Flooded Gum, Salmon Gum, York Gum, Wandoo, Pink Flowering Yellow Gum, River Gum and several  Melaleuca.

Environmental Benefits

The area subject to reforestation will link an isolated woodlands area and the Avon River habitat

Aircraft operations can achieve a Carbon Neutral footprint

Increased habitat and shelter area for native animals & birds

Reduced salinity and erosion (wind & water)

Other Green Initiatives

Solar powered fuel pump

Rubbish taken to the local transfer station and not 'dumped' in an out of sight corner

No stock on property allowing native trees to grow and fauna survive.

Pool blanket for reduced water evaporation and chemical usage

Aerobic waste water treatment system protecting the Avon River environment
