The Queen’s Baton Relay is a Commonwealth Games tradition that celebrates the Commonwealth’s diversity, inspires community pride and excites people about the world-class festival of sports and culture to come.

The Queen’s Baton carries a message from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and commenced it's journey on 13th March 2017 from Buckingham Palace, it will travel through the entire Commonwealth for 388 days and 230,000 kilometeres!

On it's south coast NSW leg of the epic journey the Queen's Baton joined us. It was a momentous occasion for our team and in particular our Chief Instructor Joe, who had the honour of kicking off the Wollongong leg of the relay as batonbearer #1.

More than 1,000 school children and members of the public gathered in Stuart Park and were treated by an incredible display by the Skydive Sydney-Wollongong crew, first of all a huge Australian flag, followed by two smoke jumpers and then the safe arrival of the baton.

Blue skies,
The SKYDIVE crew
