We know that tandem instructors get a lot of the glory of the skydiving experience, but without our jump pilots, we wouldn’t be able to get our awesome customers in the sky!
Funded through a joint partnership between Skydive Australia and the Australian Jump Pilot Academy, the Skydive Australia Aviation Scholarship will be awarded for the continuing education and development of IFR CPL holders.
You will complete a Type rating course on the TPE331 powered 900shp Cessna 208 Caravan, along with all other Parachute Jump Exercise (PJE) industry ratings required for you to jump start your career within the industry!
This scholarship is valued at over $8,000 and is designed to deliver you a personalised one-on-one coaching and mentoring program which will provide you with the skills and experience required in pursuing a profession within the PJE industry.
Your Initial flight training course will take approximately 10-14 days to complete, and the flight training will be conducted by the Australian Jump Pilot Academy and Skydive Australia at our Shellharbour, NSW base.
To be eligible for this scholarship the recipient must be an Australian citizen and hold a CASA Part 91 Commercial Pilot Licence and Instrument Flight Rating as a minimum.
We want to know about you so all applications must be accompanied by a short cover letter (500-1000 words) addressing the following:
- Your aviation history and ambitions;
- What you have done for yourself to achieve your aviation goals;
- How this scholarship will assist you achieve your objectives;
- Overview of community engagement work you have carried out;
- Personal commendable achievements.
Scholarship must be used within six months of receiving formal notification of successful application.
